Peggy Lynn Clemens Lauritzen, AG, FOGS has been involved in genealogy since before her birth.

My parents were excellent genealogists, and instilled the same love of history and family in me and my three sisters.  One of my favorite pictures is of my mother on her way to do cemetery research four days before my birth.

My roots run deep into the South, where I am Accredited.  They involve the states of Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, and some areas of Pennsylvania.  I love the area of Appalachia, and have written several Legacy QuickGuides that you may purchase from the site:  familytreewebinars.com/peggylauritzen

You may also follow my columns in Reminisce Magazine.

Recent accolades include:
In April 2018, I was awarded the title of Fellow of the Ohio Genealogical Society.

In October 2018, I was awarded the Laura G. Prescott Award for Exemplary Service to Professional Genealogy.

APG recognized several members for their achievements and service to APG and the profession at its 2018 Professional Management Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. APG President Billie Fogarty presented the awards at the opening session.

The Laura G. Prescott Award for Exemplary Service to Professional Genealogy was presented to Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, AG, OGSF, in recognition of exemplary professionalism and continuing encouragement to other professional genealogists. Peggy, a lifelong genealogist, has been an active teacher and lecturer in the field for many years. Along with her husband, Kerry Lauritzen, she has served as director of their local Family History Center in central Ohio. Miss Peggy, as she is affectionately called, is known among her colleagues for her care and compassion. She is an expert in Ohio, mid-Southern, and Appalachian research and has written several Legacy research guides. She has been a featured writer for Reminisce Magazine and has been an instructor for Ancestry Academy. In 2018, she was elected a fellow of the Ohio Genealogical Society.

Though not inclined to do client research, I find great satisfaction in seeing others discover their ancestors through the classes I've taught.  Please feel free to contact me to arrange for lectures.

Currently, my husband and I are serving as Family History Center Directors in Mansfield, OH.
